In May 2009, Gadaffi Nkosi a Douglas Foundation Scholarship recipient was interviewed by "CNN Presents: Black in America," an unprecedented television documentary, examines the successes, struggles and complex issues faced by black men, women and families -- 40 years after the death of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

As an international student from South Africa, Gadaffi was asked to talk about the preconceived notions that Africans had about Americans and how the media depicts life in America. The CNN crew was also in South Africa last year where they interviewed Gadaffi’s mother and took footage from the community where he grew up.
