The Douglas Foundation is a small delta-force of global volunteers who strategically provide educational opportunity to attend one of four remaining historically African-American boarding schools in the United States; as well as leadership camps in the States and South Africa, for talented less fortunate students.
The foundation all so supports after-school programs and educational projects that empowers families and promotes economic development within their community. We promote collaboration with other organizations whose objectives are to positively impact youth development and educational excellence as part of their overall agenda.
Two non-profit organizations – one in the U.S. and one in South Africa -- have been created to work together toward this goal, of providing long- and short-term educational opportunities to needy South African students and to encourage youth development within communities. Through these charities, The Douglas International Group, (Pty) Ltd. fulfils its corporate social responsibilities.

Mission: is to identify and negotiate long- and short-term educational opportunities, whether in the United States or South Africa, that would benefit outstanding students of any race, color or creed from South Africa’s poorest and most vulnerable communities. These opportunities are designed to empower young scholars and to help them develop strong leadership skills and strive for academic excellence.
Objective: is to create and implement a strategy that will raise funds to support educational initiatives and award educational scholarships to needy South African students.
Our secondary objective is to collaborate with other organizations and institutions that will help us reach our objectives and provide enriching opportunities.
Whenever possible, an American element will be introduced into these opportunities, so that South African scholars are exposed to American culture or are able to interact directly with American students.
Make your tax deductible donation today and help usbreak the cycle of poverty while,at the same time, developing future leaders in South Africa. |
