The Douglas Foundation is a small delta-force of global volunteers who strategically provide educational opportunities to talented, less fortunate South Africa students. Projects include placing students boarding schools, enabling their entry into University and College as well as sending bright students to leadership camps in the United States and South Africa.

The foundation also supports after-school programs and educational projects that empower families and promote economic development within their community. We promote collaboration with other organizations whose objectives are to positively impact youth development and educational excellence as part of their overall agenda.

The collaborations between South African and United State organizations have resulted in an impressive “educational pipeline” between these two countries.  This pipeline takes less fortunate South African high school students, who have been vetted by Make A Difference Foundation (MAD) and are proven to be academically talented and deserving, to attend the Piney Woods School boarding schools in the United States for up to a 2-year period.  The educational pipeline returns these students back to South Africa to attend a gap year at the prestigious African Leadership Academy, and quickly puts them on the fast track toward making a meaningful difference prior to beginning university in South Africa.
